Over in the Popwatch facebook group (48 members and counting! http://www.facebook.com/group.php?gid=15405436911 if you're in that particular virtual world) the Whitby Gazette are claiming that they will be the team to beat at the Pop Quiz... surely the bands of Whitby can't take that kind of gauntlet lying down?
There are rumours of Yabadabadoo, DT's and even a Sludge Ghaut team... so come on the rest of you... Tuesday 15th July, 8pm at the Station Inn only £1 per member and a chance to prove that the pop kids (and pop-oldies!) of Whitby can beat the local journo's!

Folk Devils CD Shop on Sandgate have also now confirmed that they will be entering a team...
I can now unfortunatly deny the rumour that YabbaDabbaDoo will be bringing a team. Due to no babysitters there will only be one member. And as he is the dafted one in the band, will be clinging onto the hope that some other team will take pity on him and allow him to join!!
The prizes are rolling in... there is a pair of tickets for the Chumbawamba gig and a CD from Folk Devils up for grabs in addition to the very special Pop Quiz trophies and of course some drink... x
Jon Horne and the Madonnas are intending to field a team (consisting at the moment of me and my brother - lost Yabbs are welcome to join).
The gazette actually showing up to a whitby now event would indeed be a first , they couldnt be arsed to show for any of the others so why now ?? whats in it for them ? For then to win anything they need to show up first . I wont be holding my breath .
